A member of the American Council of Renewable Energy, Daniel Tobin works as a Senior Director in the Loan Programs Office at the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, DC. He helps to analyze the credit risk of infrastructure projects and negotiates and closes multi-million dollar federal loans for renewable energy power projects. He also spent several months as a Senior Energy Finance Board member helping the Department of Defense review and rate energy projects as part of the U.S. Army Energy Initiatives Task Force.
Mr. Tobin previously worked as an Energy Research Associate for the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy in Newark, Delaware, where he analyzed and developed energy policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in an effort to mitigate climate change. While there, he published and coauthored several papers, including “Pathways to a U.S. Hydrogen Economy: Technical and Policy Challenges.” He also presented at the International Association for Science, Technology, and Society Annual Meeting.
In his down time, Daniel Tobin enjoys watching independent movies. He also spent time volunteering with the City Dogs Rescue in Washington, DC. An avid traveler, he lived in Western Australia for a time and traveled extensively throughout Europe, South America, and Southeast Asia.Education
